Web Design & Development Projects

Web Application Technical Advice & Code Review | Video Streaming Website

We continue to work with Festpass to help them achieve their vision. They recently brought in an equity CTO who has his own team of developers but we continue to do code review, offer technical advice, and manage the deployment of code to the qa and production sites.

This project is an example of how we’re here to help at every stage of the project. Whether the client has only an idea and needs help making that idea a reality, which is what we did for this project several years ago, to pitching in and helping out as the project evolves to bringing resources in house.

Social Media Posts | MyNiceTie

MyNiceTie is a side business of Buink’s founder, but we manage the weekly social media posts to Facebook and Twitter. Although we don’t talk much about this service that we can offer, it is one that can add a lot of value for clients who don’t have time to maintain a good flow of content. It is amazing how effecting it is to just consistently post something fresh to those who follow your business online.

Website Development (rebuild) | Automotive Website

At the same time we were fixing up this client’s legacy app, we took over the rebuild of their app from a previous developer. As their business evolved, they’ve been able to narrow down what their customer really needs and they wanted to simplify the interface to make it easier to onboard and service new clients.

We don’t typically recommend rebuilding, but the client had already started with a previous developer and didn’t want to stop.

As expected, rebuilds are always harder and take longer than originally expected, but we worked closely with the client to ensure that they were getting value every step of the way and that they were moving as quickly as possible to their goal.

Their new system is now done and it is a significant upgrade from their old system.

Multiple Websites Development Projects | Web Design Agency

We continue to do lots of work for other bigger agencies. This work is mostly front-end, pixel perfect pages in Shopify and WordPress.

Some of the work is adding structured data to make it easier for search engines to understand what a page represents. We’ve also integrated with third party providers like Klaviyo. In addition, we’ve done a lot of work for various websites related to ADA requirements.

Web Application Development Bug Fixes | Recruiting Website

One of the hardest things about our job is when someone comes to us with an existing codebase and asks what it would cost to fix all the bugs. This is challenging because we have to understand the codebase (which are usually thousands of lines long), understand the problems (which are pages and pages of requirements), and estimate what it will take to get the code from where it is to where it needs to be. All within a couple hours.

We had to give it to them straight, what they’re asking is impossible without time and money. Luckily, this client took a chance on us and they weren’t disappointed.

We were able to dig into their codebase and their requirements, note which bugs were already fixed, uncover additional bugs that they didn’t know about, and get their code working well enough for their beta launch. We also worked closely with them to hit deadlines necessary to keep their investors happy.

Their beta launch was a success and we’re excited to get going on Phase II once they raise their next round.

Website Maintenance | Video Streaming Web Application

If code is online, it needs ongoing maintenance. We continue to maintain and make changes to an existing web application in an effort to push the site to a public launch. There are lots of reasons why a site may not make it to a public launch (budget, market, marketing, founders, investor, etc.) but our goal is to make sure development isn’t one of those.

Web Application ERP Integration | Equipment Rental

Large companies with a lot of inventory for sale (or rent) typically manage that inventory with an ERP system (enterprise resource planning). These systems make it difficult to put real-time information in the hands of consumers through a web interface. But getting this information in the hands of consumers is very profitable.

We helped this client improve the design and usability of their inventory data through an updated website interface. This interface connects their data real-time to the web. This interface also works hand in hand with their consumer facing WordPress site that we also redesigned along side this project.

WordPress Website Development | Automated Law Firm Website

We originally quoted this project as a separate web application and a website working hand in hand. Our default suite of technologies would have been the most robust solution, but the client wanted to save money at first because of the startup nature of this company.

We pivoted and presented a solution to the client that was fully built within WordPress for about half the cost. They liked that idea. There are always tradeoffs to going with a more affordable solution, but those were tradeoffs the client could live with.

Some highlights of this project were our ability to integrate with several existing plugins to create an automated system for processing new orders whether from third-parties or within the website. The site also syncs data to the clients internal customer relationship software.
